Pärnu Museum
“Made in Pärnumaa”

Estonian Design Awards 2018, exhibition design, SILVER.

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia, the Pärnu County museums collaborated to create a varied exhibition called Made in Pärnumaa. The exhibition is an ode to the city of Pärnu and the more than eleven-thousand-year history of the area. The exhibition provides a retrospect of objects and activities that started in Pärnu County and continue to be meaningful for Estonia today. The following topics are highlighted: history, culture, industry, nature and Kihnu island. The visual concept of the exhibition takes inspiration from the industrial character of the space and the theme. The design turns the space to a “warehouse” and “stores” different themes using cardboard boxes, big paper banners, rustic wooden details and monochrome graphics.
