Estonian Museum of Natural History
Geology Hall in the Permanent Exhibition

FEBRUARY 2016

What is the history of the formation of Estonian territory, how can we describe Estonian geological structure, which mineral resources do we have, and which of them we can mine here? Visitors can also see the internal structure of the Earth, take a closer look at meteorite craters, as well as see and hear a witty weather forecast on the Earth’s changing climate conditions over the past 20 million years. The exhibition is characterized by a timeline depicted on a light wall, taking visitors back to the time of 1.9 billion years ago. Each geological era is marked with a distinctive colour scheme. The design is continued on walls and furniture with the lines of surface layers milled into natural plywood surfaces. Younger exhibition visitors will have the opportunity to discover a dinosaur cave.
